Organization Committee
GOAL – Provide effective leadership in downtown and increase involvement in the program
The Organization Committee assembles public and private leaders within the community to work toward the same downtown revitalization goals.
Members of this Committee
will be appointed by the La
Grande City Council on Jan.
14, 2009.
Promotion Committee
GOAL – Promote the
downtown as the
community’s social,
cultural and economic center
The Prmotion Committee sells a positive brand image of the downtown drawing visitors, shoppers and investors into the downtown. The La Grande Downtown Development Association will be a key player in the activities of this committee.
Design Committee
GOAL – Encourage visual
improvements through good
design with historic features
The Design Committee enhances
both livability and attraction of downtown by rehabilitating historic buildings, creating pedestrian-oriented streets and encouraging context-sensitive new construction.
Economic Restructuring Committee
GOAL – Strengthen & broaden the economic base of downtown
The Economic Restructuring
Committee strengthens downtown's
existing assets while expanding and
diversifying its economic base. Main
Street sharpens the competitive-
ness of existing business and attracts
compatible new businesses.
