Devin Cornford had always been interested in having his own business but he really had no specific kind in mind. That is, until he and his wife, Deb, visited a growler station in Bend. He then knew what he wanted that business to be and, thus, Tap That Growlers was born. Devin and Deb, along with their children Gary and Nikkita and Nikkita’s husband Kaden Titus, opened Tap That! Growlers in 2014.
By 2020, business was so brisk that they moved to their present location at 1106 Adams Avenue. At that time, the downtown provider of craft beer, hard cider, and more also expanded to add a restaurant serving brick-oven pizza, custom pasta, wings, pretzels, salads, and more. Tap That Growlers now features sections for different crowds. There is one section that is family friendly, where children are welcome. There, growlers can be filled to take to go or customers can have dinner with their children and have a drink with dinner. The other side is for adults 21 and over. This includes shuffleboard, tabletop games and activities and slot machines. Both sections rece3ive full service from the bar and kitchen. Along with operating a fun-filled venue for the whole family, the Cornford family is also active in the community. Over the years, they have hosted many fundraising events for children, most recently the 4-H Radio Auction on April 2nd of this year. This commitment to community is a natural, given Devin’s years as a firefighter. With the Cornford family’s mission of serving the community in many different guises and their goal of continuing to make an impact on our local community through their outreach, as well as providing great food and drink in a convivial setting, they are indeed a valued member of the La Grande business community.
